You actually reminded me of another reason I stayed so long — I could see the demons he was battling and was rooting for him. There was a lovely soul struggling to break free. I thought I could help.
Sadly I became one more victim in his forty plus years of acting out. He’s moved on and is someone else’s nightmare now.
Can recovery happen? Yes! You are living proof, but in the meantime. I agree with you — Stay away!
